Hi there!

I’m Alison, an English teacher and freelance journalist currently living and working in Madrid, Spain.

I’m drawn to stories about.

My work has appeared in The Ottawa Citizen, The Gravenhurst Banner, The Bracebridge Examiner,

I graduated from Carleton University in 2015 with a degree in Journalism and a minor in French. During university I was heavily involved with Carleton’s Journalists for Human Rights chapter and had the opportunity to cover topics ranging from reaction to the Jian Ghomeshi trial to indigenous resistance to the oil pipelines. One of my stories on supervised injection was picked up and featured in JHR’s national magazine Speak.

It was also during university that I fell in love with radio and created and co-hosted my own biweekly human rights focused current affairs show on CKCU FM.

I spent the summer after graduation interning with Farm Radio in Accra, Ghana, where I produced stories about and
